Phi Theta Kappa's mission is two-fold: 

1) Recognize and encourage the academic achievement of
 two-year college students, and 

2) Provide opportunities for individual growth and development 
through participation in honors, leadership, service and
 fellowship programming.
Volunteer Opportunity with United Way
Phi Theta Kappa members will be working with United Way on Friday, April 20, 2012, on a great community project! The details follow. I hope you can join your fellow Phi Theta Kappa members and other community volunteers for a fun day while assisting the community. Dr. Moss
To recap:
Breakfast provided at 8 am
  You can park in lot across the street from Elmcroft (311 Camp Rd.)
We will divide up projects on site (trying to keep teams together as much as possible)
We have LIVE UNITED work gloves, bandannas and t-shirts for volunteers
Water and sports drinks will be available
Randolph County Nursing asked us to park in the back (at sign go to the left)
BBQ lunch will be provided at Randolph County Home
All materials will be on site and ready for us to "dig in"
We will have large tools like wheelbarrows etc on site
If your team members have their own hand trowels to bring, that would be very helpful


Graduation Regalia
Graduating students: You may order your graduation regalia at any time. You may order through myself (Dr. Moss, 870-248-4000 ext 4236 or lindam@blackrivertech.edu) or through Recognitions at www.ptk.org. I can save you shipping and handling charges. Since I order in larger quantities, your shipping cost is $2.00 per order. Honors Tassel $10.00, Honors Stole $20.00, Honors Cords $13.00 for a total of $45.00. If you get your items the night of graduation the cost will be $50.00. You may also order other items at the same time. Look on the Phi Theta Kappa web site or talk to me about additional items. May Monthly Meeting
The May monthly meeting of Phi Theta Kappa will be held Wednesday, May 2, 3:30 pm in Pocahontas BT 118 and Paragould CVN. Come hear our guest presenter discuss Game Theory. Other topics of discussion: Relay for Life and Operation Green.
